Happiness is Having Twins: March 2015

2-1-15 Lily and Violet haven't been interested in the potty lately which is totally fine. The last 2 days Lily has been taking her dolls to the potty and today she sat on the potty without her diaper! I gave her 2 mini M&M's for sitting there like a big girl!

If Violet gets too tired before lunch she will not eat! That happened today. Hopefully she'll eat a snack and a lot at dinner tonight! We went to my mom's house for dinner tonight. She made eclairs for dessert. Violet loved them! Well she loved the chocolate on top and pretty much just ate that. She had it all over her face! As I was holding Violet waiting for Ryan to get Lily buckled, Violet and I were looking at the moon. She waved to the moon and said, “Night-night,” and I thought about how sad I'll be when they're too big to wave at the moon.

2-4-15 Now they ask to watch Meme Poppins!! Lily said to me today, “See you later!” then she left the room with her stroller. Violet loves the purple hippo with wheels! She says “Hippo!” and “Voom voom!! Cash!!”

Lily will usually roll up her sleeves at meals if you ask her too. Ryan rolled them up for her so of course she rolled them down and said, “No sleeves up!” I told him he just needs to ask her to do it, but it's too late now. He said, “Lily, will you roll up your sleeves?” She answered, matter of fact-ly, “Too late.”

2-9-15 They stack up any blocks and call it a birthday cake!

They still request Mary Poppins and at the end where Dick van Dyke is the old banker, they say, "Santa! Santa's comin'!"

2-10-15 Violet was sitting on my lap and I started stacking our hands, one on top of the other. We started moving the bottom one to the top faster and faster. Then she would laugh and say “Again!” Lily loves the new song we've been singing, Popcorn Popping on the Apricot Tree. She says, "Popcorn, window song, mama?"

2-12-15 My mom watched the girls today. When she left, Lily stood at the window, waved, and said, "Bye yia-yia. Love it comin play me, sissy."

Violet usually doesn't sing quite as much as Lily. At dinner we were singing popcorn popping on the apricot tree, and Violet knew every word! We've only been singing it a couple of weeks and I haven't heard her sing any of it! That just shows how smart she is, always taking everything in, even if she's not always as vocal as Lily.

2-17-15 Lily has been pretty sick the last two days so I stayed home with them today. We started watching Singing in the Rain last night and Lily was holding the case. When Gene Kelly came on she'd say, "That's him!" She kept asking me to sing Rain to her over and over. She's usually not snuggly at all, but yesterday she napped in my arms for a little over an hour! It was sweet. Violet snuggles with me every day, so it was nice to have some Lily time, even though I hate when either of my babies are sick.

2-19-15 We use the head swipe thermometer to take their temperatures and always say their temperatures out loud. When Lily takes my temperature with her toy thermometer she says, "6, 7, 8, 9, mama!"

2-22-15 We got the girls pillows for their beds! They love them and were so happy at bedtime. They know a lot of the letters in the ABC song and they love Chicka Chicka Boom Boom too. I've heard them sing the ABC song, "...q r s, loose-tooth t!"

2-25-15 They are so adorable at bedtime! They both sit on Violet's bed for story time. They each choose one or two books to read and are so excited and into the books. They read along at times and fill in words they know. They point out things in the pictures and laugh a lot! It's so much fun! When it's time to go to sleep, Violet lies right down every night. She loves sleep like mama. Lily always whines for one more book no matter how many we read. She usually takes a few minutes to get settled and sometimes needs to rock or be sung to. Sweet dreams, my darling daughters!

2-26-15 We asked if they had fun with Yia-Yia and what did they do. Lily said, "EAT!"

2-27-15 Violet loves sneaking my phone and playing with the lock screen. It does little bubbles where you touch it and she gets the biggest kick out of it! Then she swipes and unlocks it and really starts laughing! It's hilarious! The only app I have for them right now is toddler paint. They like to "color" on my phone. Lily likes to sit in the ball pit and throw out all the purple balls! Today she got out and held up two balls and said, "Purple balls!"
